Jayna Sharpe Bogle

I have so many memories from this home, it's almost hard to know where to start.. I remember first of all, not sure how old I was or what holiday it was, but all the cousins was up in the Bonus room that was Brent's room at the time. They had a strobe light going and we all was lined up at the door seeing who could get from the doorway to the bed without falling. Needless to say when it was my turn I took off and right before I made it Rodney stuck his leg out, and of course clumsy me busted the end of the bed which was also covered in carpet with my mouth, that still hurt ever so badly. With blood running everywhere the adults was notified. I remember sitting in the sink by Sharon's room and so many adults in there trying to keep me calm... Fat lip and all, I made it just fine.

I also remember one night Stephanie and I begged and begged for me to stay the night, only thing was we had to go to bed when told. We was young, so yeah, we didn't listen. I remember Pete and Juan was in the living room watching the 3 Stooges, so we decided we would turn upside down on the stairs and watch quietly between the stairs.. that would have been great for someone that could be quiet! Anyways.. as we watched I got so tickled and began to laugh, instead of being able to get up and go to the bathroom I laughed even harder. Next thing pee ran every where. Stephanie insisted she tell her mom (wake her up) I was so scared. All you could hear was drip drip drip.. it dripping on the floor under the stairs. First thing she did was come out of her room with that half gasp hold your breath thing these lovely Clark ladies do before they talk. We heard, "Stephanie what was you 2 doing up?, I told y'all to go to bed!" Next thing Uncle Pete standing there I looked over thinking I was in so much trouble, that memory goes on and on in my mind. Another, I could not ever wait to go visit because most generally Stephanie and I would have it worked out by the time to go home that I could stay the night. I loved staying there we would wake up go down stairs to the kitchen where Aunt Sharon would be sitting there drinking coffee. Next we would get the idea that we needed to make weenies and eggs, I thought that was what all Mexicans ate for breakfast.. yeah I was wrong.. but it was sooo good..

I miss laughing at all the Aunts and Uncle Sonny because them together there was never a dry
eye. The pranks they pulled, the laughs they shared or jokes that was told, most at that time I didn't get, but everyone laughed so it was just as funny to me watching them laugh. So many people wished they had the family we had,the closeness of everyone. Grandma was so proud of her family. My favorite part was sitting in the Game room everyone packed in like sardines Rodney
on piano and the band a rocking singing Christmas carols listening to the sisters sing was the most beautiful sound ever. Their voices together was a perfect tune to the ears. Most generally Stephanie sang La Bamba. That was usually the start of it.

I miss Uncle Pete playing the guitar to us at bedtime I loved that when he was home and I was there. Those are only a few of the memories I have. I miss the good ol days no matter where we all was, that's where all the love was. I could still tell you every inch of my memory of that house. It will be missed but the memories will never be forgotten. It's what's in a home, not the home itself. I am grateful for the memories that are stamped in my mind. It at times makes a bad moment a little better just to think back on the good ol days.
Love Always and Forever,
Jayna
