Shawna Clark Covington

I hope you have reserved me a whole page in the book, I have so many memories! lol

I have always loved going to that house, not many things in my life have been consistent, but that house was never changing.

I remember always drinking sweet tea out of the glass mugs, the glass canisters on the counter full of peanuts, bubble gum, oreos, and some sort of macaroni. Lots of little knick-knacks on the window sill, small things in the light between the island, and the dishwasher. Lots of pictures in the mail slots by the door, pictures on the side of the fridge above the calender, and the bottom drawer where the canning lids, and misc.was kept,
(both my kids played in it)!...Brent's spoon... hahaha love that story! Grandma always spoke the truth sometimes it wasn't very nice. I will also miss sitting in the chair at the end of the table where it was so warm...and miss seeing that beautiful plant in the living room, that seem to grow so well by that window..(more grandma stories) so funny!!

When i was young, I remember thinking how fancy that house was, with the radio, speakers on the wall..WOW you could talk to each other downstairs to upstairs..although I don't think we really got to play with those much, not for kids, I'm sure!

I loved the holiday season there as a kid, I remember going upstairs to "PLAY". One time I will never forget happened in the small bedroom at the top of the staircase, Peetie's room at the time I think, later the famous "fireman" room. Anyway, Not sure who all was in there but I know it was me, Juan, Tootsie, and Kyle. Someone had the idea to start prank calling people,Kyle had a phone book and was calling Chinese restaurants, and in the best Asian voice, asking "uh Yeah, How much egg roll" Oh my we all laughed, and laughed...good times!

I'm sure everyone has a memory of the bonus room, first Brent had the cool bed in there, with the blinds that matched the paint, once again, fancy!! I remember that tall white book shelf in Juan's room with all that stuff so neatly placed, even the "I heard it through the grapevine band" had their own spot!

I love the living room, where the men, and the new girlfriends sat. I loved that. That was the place we often took our family pictures, in front of the fireplace.

And that on holidays it was ok to eat in there(hope you used a coaster)!! I loved all the pictures on the shelves, and at Christmas time all the cards were hung by the fireplace, and that Santa plate always sat on the mantle. I loved the Christmas tree, and the fact you kept all those homemade ornaments..so sweet. Do you remember the Christmas I gave you a washer and a dryer? Someone had shown me a trick with a Kleenex stuffed through a washer (you know the kind that one might use with a nut, or bolt?) Any way, I told my dad that I had an idea for you for Christmas, told him about it, and he helped me find a washer. I think he was just as excited as I was, we got it and wrapped it, and first thing as soon as we got to your house we took it to you, he said,"go ahead tell her what you got her" I said "no dad, she has to open it first!" you opened it, with of course, a troubled look on your face, and dad and I laughed out loud..."Its a new washer and dryer", I said, then we all laughed together..what a great memory, I hope you still have it...

I remember the toys in the "closet",and how cool it was that you still had some things as old as Brent.(that fisher-price school house) wonder how many kids have played with those toys??
I remember that coffee table under the staircase, what was the point of that?? lol
Speaking of coffee tables, I'll always remember you garden...(grandma again)!
I remember the tiny perfume bottles in the bathroom, and the lock on the door, wasn't it backwards?

I remember SO many things from this house, but when I think of 800 S. Bouziden, I remember feeling Loved, and never wanting to leave! I love you SO, and look forward to many, many more memories in OUR new house.

Always my Love,
Shawna
