Valerie "MeMaw" Clark Dunkin

The Martinez Home

A house where the door was always open, never closed to anyone. There was always laughter, screams, pounding, noise of some kind. If only a wind up toy. At the kitchen table I remember making Christmas ornaments, the little macaroni angels with Barbara Gabrish with funny faces. Lots of food and laughter. Sitting on the patio you holding J.J. watching the cat chasing a mouse in the flower bed. Watching kids play in and out of the playhouse, and ball in the backyard. At Christmas time, the sound of little feet going up & down stairs, big thump upstairs. Here comes Wynema, with a brace around her neck, always laughter when she comes around.
Your kitchen when we canned, but the most fun was hearing the jars testify "pop". Canning with Jerilyn made "pretty sauce". God knew what he was doing when he took it away, He knew you needed another home, because that one had so many cracks and water stains. You didn't have the money to fix it up like you wanted. Since you've had your home paid off you now have a new home. After your boys have worked 4 months remodeling the whole house making it just like you want. I am so proud of your whole family, they all have been such a blessing to you and Pete. You know I could go on and on and never cover all the activity that went on in that home:

New Year's
Easter
Family Reunions
Mother's Day
Birthdays
Father's Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas
Weddings
Graduation Parties
Showers of all kinds
Most of all the "Martinez Family Christmas"
Looking forward to spending time with you in your new home.
I love you,
Valerie

P.S. If mama were here, she would want you to plow up that lake in your back yard and plant a garden. Agree?
